Who grew up to be Judges, Civic Leaders, Ministers, and Officers of the law.  Please give this a read! It also can be printed out!

This is Judith's headstone. It is a special DAR plaque.  She was born September 14, 1960 and she died October 6, 1840 age 80!

Ella Quin, my grandmother and the focus of this website was in the Judith Robinson Quin Chapter of DAR, in McComb. Her Aunt Margaret Quin Fugler (Madge) began this recording of Quin history and was a Regent in the DAR for many years.  She was an amazing woman! She is in Who's Who of Mississippi pub. 1914 and she was among many other things a State Representative!  Madge's daughter, Mary Margaret Hafter's husband was Jerome S. Hafter. He published a genealogy book called "The Family History of Peter Quin" That includes all proceeding generations the last edition was printed in 1970.

Marian (Mixie)  Houk and John Talbot Houk (Dock) traveled to visit the first homeland place of the Peter Quin's in America.  This where Buffalo Creek meets the Broad river.  This was before they moved to Pike County, Mississippi.  Imagine starting over at 50 years of age and traveling with huge family by wagon to unsettled territory in Mississippi.  Took 6 weeks!  Yikes!   Here is where they moved to (see map lower left), near the Bogue Chitto River!  Our ancestors would have looked like the businessman on the right!
